pip ✦ is a personal AI content operating system for creator-founders. this privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
who we are
pip is built and operated by francoise toneto, based in austin, texas. you can reach us at:

what we collect
information you give us
- account info — your email address when you sign up
- brand profile — the answers you give during onboarding (business name, brand voice, goals, writing samples)
- content — videos, photos, and text you upload to generate captions or scripts
- pipeline data — content ideas, stages, and notes you add to your pipeline
information we collect automatically
- usage data — how you interact with pip (pages visited, features used)
- device info — browser type, operating system, general location (country/region)
- log data — error logs and performance data to keep the app running smoothly
information from third parties
if you connect your social accounts or google calendar, we receive:
- google calendar — read your events for briefings; when you set a date on Pip's content calendar, Pip can add or update matching events on your Google Calendar (you can disconnect anytime in settings)
- social accounts — basic profile info and performance data from accounts you connect (when social integrations are available)
we never access anything beyond what you explicitly authorize.
how we use your information
we use your information to:
- run pip — generate your briefings, captions, scripts, and content suggestions
- personalize your experience — learn your voice and brand over time so pip gets smarter
- send you magic links — the only emails we send are sign-in links you requested
- improve pip — understand how features are used to make them better
- keep things secure — detect and prevent abuse or unauthorized access
we do not use your information for advertising. pip is ad-free.
your content and AI processing
when you upload a video or photo, or generate a caption or script:
- videos and photos stay on your device during caption generation — only extracted frames and audio are sent to anthropic's API, not the full file
- your brand profile and writing samples are sent to anthropic as context for generating personalized content
- generated captions and scripts are stored in pip so you can access them later
- anthropic processes your content according to their privacy policy (anthropic.com/privacy) and usage policies (anthropic.com/policies)
data storage and security
- your data is stored in supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit
- we use row-level security so your data is only accessible to you
- magic links expire after 24 hours and can only be used once
- we never store passwords — pip uses passwordless authentication only
your rights
you have the right to:

- access your data — request a copy of the information pip holds about you
- delete your account — request deletion of your account and all associated data
- correct your information — update your brand profile and account details at any time in settings
- disconnect integrations — remove connected accounts at any time in settings
- data portability — request your data in a portable format
data retention
- we keep your data as long as your account is active
- if you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days
- some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days after deletion
- anonymized, aggregated data (no personal information) may be retained indefinitely to improve pip
children's privacy
pip is not intended for children under 13. we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. if you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@pip-knows.com.
changes to this policy
if we make significant changes to this privacy policy we'll notify you by email before the changes take effect. the "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
